I hope you like the new design of our newsletter. It's a work in progress (like all of us π)
β
While hundreds of us gather today for our Closer Than Breath Centering Prayer Summit, this week's recap reminds us again of the nearness of God.
β
At the very bottom are details about an in-person retreat I am leading from Feb 28 to March 2.
β
Enjoy!

Somewhere in those depths of silence I came upon my first experience of God as a loving presence that was always near, and prayer as a simple trust in that presence.

God is not a Guy-in-the-Sky. God is the Source of all that is, including your self.β β The universal contemplative invitation is to:β β Drop the illusion that God is only "out there." β β Be where you are.β β It's precisely where God is.β β π§π§π½π§πΏβ π§π½π§β β Take a moment to breathe into God's here-ness now.

So many of us grow up with the message that God is the great Guy-in-the-Sky. This God loves the world but is ultimately separate from it and separate from us. But the great contemplatives say otherwise: God is not distant; that God is the Heart of our hearts and the very Center of our souls.
β
From the contemplative perspective, the spiritual journey isnβt one in which we get closer to God, but rather about waking up to the reality that we are already one! Join this weekend retreat to explore Centering Prayer as a powerful path to awakening our pre-existing oneness with God.
